Linguistics

This is the page of all things language! I am especially interested in human languages as here on Marz, we only have one, Plutonese.
It used to be Martian, but as of late, we've been colonized by the Plutonians. (the've been so salty since Pluto was demoted to being dwarf)

The video to the left is how I make my languages. It's super easy to understand. Enjoy lovely lovelies~

Languages I Want to Learn

A Short Introduction to my Universe

The Mini Universe in my head has a LOT of lore attached to it, but that's a story for another time.
Its unofficial name is Marzipan and it has 2 extra planets: Glitch, and FL-11.
How this relates to liguistics you ask? Well, I've taken the liberty of creating a language for Glitch.

Conlang #1: New Dezi

Glitch has a variety of different languages (that I'm working on), the most prominent being New Dezi. New Dezi is the mordern version of the language Dezi, which is now called Old Dezi as to not be confused. Old Dezi is only spoken by The Four Guardians, The Protector, and The First Conduit (of whom you probably don't know of). New Dezi is essentially the English of Planet Glitch, and was based very loosely off of German.

Phonoaesthetics

Consonants: b, k (Q), f, h, j, l, n, r, s, t, v, z, p, g, y, m, x, ts, ch
Vowels: ah (A), ay (E), ee (IE), long o (O), oo (U), short a (A), eh (E), uh (E), ih (I), short o (O), uh (U), ir (IR), ow (AU), ai (EI/AI), oy (EU)

Apostrophes

Between constant and vowel, clear distinction. Ex. M'iri
Between two vowels, no clear distinction, but don't smush together OR not a blend.
Ex. Bo'a (bōAH) not (BŌ-uh); Nie'u (nēū) not (NĒ-oy)

Grammar Syntax

Word Order

Subject-Verb-Object (SVO)
 BUT
In subordinate clauses (clauses started w/ conjunctions) the verb is at the end (SOV)

Weird Quirks

Adjective and Adverb

Adjective and Adverbs are before modyfing nouns/verbs.
To make an adverb, add 'ch' (or ech) to the end. If 'ch' is already at the end, then add 'ts' (or ets).
Ex. zach = loud, so zachets = loudly.

Articles

(ALERT! I js realized 'of' is not a article, but a preposition im stoopid)
None, except for hŏ = of.

Plurals

 -k
 -kke

Possession

Book of Brian (hŏ)

Gender

 -ung = feminine
 -em = masculine

Verbs

Person: 1st person -r (-ir), 2nd person -rŏ (irŏ), 3rd person -rie (irie)
Negation: add fa- to the beginning
Tense/Time: Present -ss, Past -tt, Future -xx

Numbers

  1. Tseu
  2. Kas
  3. Yil
  4. Fieliz
  5. Beist
  6. Liez
  7. Nen
  8. Bo'a
  9. Veta
  10. Tso

Unknown Concepts

There are some Earthian subjects that Glitchians do not know of. This make it hard when those subjects are words and I have to translate said words, so this a list of them for viewing with explanations as to why they are unknown.

Disclaimer: When using the words 'Glitchian' and 'Earthian' in this case I mean a person who lives on Glitch or Earth regardless of race (as humans can live on Glitch and Glitch-orginated races on Earth).

Conlang #2: Kume

New Glitchian race! The Hydros. The Hydros are 98% water, and they are primarily in the Water District on the continent of Quani which is ruled by the Merj Kingdom.
Kume is the official language of the Hydros and it is based off Japanese.
Just like bodies of water on Earth, Kume has a Peaceful side and a Rough side
(i love torturing myself with hard tasks).
The Peaceful should be flowy, unable to be negative, and for everyday life.
The Rough should be choppy, unable to be positive, and for when you are angry or upset.
